Blending hand-drawn shapes with bold geometric forms, London-based illustrator Ellie Andrews created these vibrant images for her own risograph publication titled The Offside. The publication, which touched upon her experiences playing football, was inspired by the patterns which adorned Umbro kits in the 1990s, as well as collected football memorabilia and her childhood heroes from Arsenal. The pastel shades and freehand elements contradict traditional representations of football and instead present a youthful, colourful take on the beautiful game. See more images here

Using body parts salvaged from crushed players and with kit details painstakingly hand-painted, each model takes up to two days to create for Terry Lee’s Subbuteo figures. The resulting figures, which depict classic moments from footballing history such as Roger Milla’s corner-flag celebration and Diego Maradona’s ‘hand of God’, are located within original Subbuteo stadiums and, of course, set on the undulating Astroturf that was the bane of every young Subbuteo fan’s life.
