    Fascinated by the way dogs have made a home for themselves in the heart of the city, writer Andrew McCaldon and photographer Sarah Ainslie set about meeting and taking pictures of dogs and their owners two years ago. They took to the parks around their neighbourhood of Spitalfields in east London, and their pictures and interviews have been published on the blog Spitalfields Life. ‘Most owners are eager to chat,’ says Andrew, ‘although sometimes, for their dogs, the promise of a stick being thrown, or a biscuit treat, is needed to secure participation’ Photograph: Sarah Ainslie
