RADIO 4’S POST-PUNK ANNOUNCER RETIRESIt was revealed on Radio 4’s Today programme this morning that announcer Harriet Cass is retiring from the BBC after 40 years of broadcasting. As music critic John Lewis has pointed out on Facebook, she must be the only voice of Radio 4 to have also performed lead vocals on a post-punk single (Scritti Politti’s 28/8/78). CS
